Sharing Korean Language & Culture
Since 2022, I have taught Korean to younger students, guiding them not only through vocabulary and grammar but also through the traditions and stories that make the language meaningful. For many of my students, learning Korean is more than just mastering new words – it is about connecting with their heritage, building confidence, and discovering a part of themselves. Through patient instruction and encouragement, I have seen shy students grow more expressive and proud of their progress.
My commitment to teaching has been recognized with several honors, including the President’s Volunteer Service Award (Gold, 2023), the President’s Volunteer Service Award (Silver, 2024), and the Junior Leadership Award (Gold, 2024 & 2025). These awards are meaningful to me not just as achievements, but as reminders of the impact that small, consistent acts of service can have. Each lesson I prepare, each cultural story I share, and each breakthrough moment with a student feels like building a stronger bridge of understanding between people and communities.
Taekwondo Instruction
As a Taekwondo instructor, I have the privilege of leading younger students through more than just martial arts techniques. In every class, I emphasize discipline, respect, and perseverance, qualities that extend far beyond the dojang. I have watched students struggle with a new form, only to master it weeks later with determination, and I have seen how that victory strengthens their confidence in all areas of life.
Though I do not hold formal awards for my Taekwondo instruction, the photographs of my students training alongside me tell a more meaningful story. They capture moments of encouragement, laughter, and resilience, the true rewards of teaching. For me, Taekwondo leadership is about shaping character, helping students face challenges with courage, and guiding them to grow stronger both physically and emotionally.
